Get ready for a drive through scenic routes and stunning landscape as you depart from Zurich in a minibus to the beautiful city of Berne. On the way, your first stop will be Switzerland’s first UNESCO biosphere reserve, the Entlebuch Valley.

After spending a good time at Kambly, you will finally reach the Swiss capital of Berne and accompanied by a multilingual guide, walk through the charming Old Town, designated UNESCO world cultural heritage.
Founded in the 12th century by a small group of devout Swiss Mennonites, the city of Berne is surrounded by the Aare River, and over the centuries has developed into a provincial town. Its 15th century old town has an idyllic appearance with terraced stone buildings, covered arcades, clock towers, church spires and cobbled streets.
During the course of the walk, you will come across the following major highlights of the old town:
Das Berner Münster: Cathedral of Berne, The Gothic cathedral boasts of the tallest church tower in Switzerland.
Zytglogge: A medieval tower built in the 13th century, it is the most recognisable symbol of Berne and is known for the astronomical clock and the bell which rings at every hour.
Parliament building: 38 artists from different parts of Switzerland have designed the building which is the seat of the Swiss government. Pay a visit to the building which overlooks the beautiful River Aare.
You will also get some free time to stroll the streets on your own, grab lunch or buy souvenirs. In the afternoon, you will continue your way through fascinating rural landscape with their rich heritage.
Your last stop will be Emmental where you will see grazing cows on green hills producing best milk, and the world famous Emmental cheese. You will also visit a show dairy, where you will witness how fresh cheese is taken out of the pot by hand. Before heading back to Zurich, indulge in some cheese tasting at the dairy.
